Otherwise you must trust who you purchase it from and or look for other identifying markings because if you do get a clone, and you try and upgrade the firmware using Foscams it will 'brick' most clones, or at the very least cause other problems. Search ebay for foscam and just wifi camera and you'll see a price difference of $10-$25 depending. Rumor is Foscam is trying to sue one of the clone manufacturers, but that's all internal to china so who knows... I don't see any major disadvantages over the available features vs Foscam, in fact the menu structure is almost identical. Nothing in the manual about installing an external speaker/mic, but if you look at image Inside Six, you can see the connector that is unplugged, that controls the mic/speaker wires, so if you can find an identical connector, one could hard wire a port for each.
